February 14th of every year is a day to celebrate love which is normally known as Valentine's day. We all know that on this day a lot of memories are created between different couples, and speaking of memories, it doesn't mean that all memories created are good and romantic.
Personally, I kind of think that valentine's day is somehow exaggerated and this leads to some really hurtful moments to some people that I'm about to talk about right now.
- First I think that most people view this day from a perspective that it's a day to celebrate only the female spouses and I personally don't think that's really what valentine's supposed to mean. It's a day to celebrate love and therefore every character participating in the love affair both male and female should be celebrated.
- Another thing that people need to change is the gifting mechanism during this day. Bare me, witness, that most people automatically think that it's the duty of the boyfriend or the husband to gift their spouses and not the other way round. That's not how it's supposed to be, both parties should appreciate each other doesn't matter who gifts who.
- The last and the most important thing I wish to talk about is how spouses exaggerate valentine's day and they are ready to risk all their love journey for just that one day. you will find a couple fighting and breaking up because their partner could not gift them on valentine's day or take them out due to various circumstances and the two lovers have been in a relationship for a long while maybe years. Which does not make sense 'cause just because you did not celebrate love on a particular public holiday meant to celebrate love doesn't mean that you don't love your partner.
- Most lasting couples celebrate love any other day and not only once a year. So people should really check on that and keep in mind that love is always celebrated every single day that you spend in a loving relationship with your spouse.
