So comrade is in year two, time indeed flies but a lot happens. So here we have a comrade who fully depends on his/her parent to provide everything mostly money. This money also comes from another source called HELB. Mostly money from helb is meant to cater for school fees and the one from the parent is either rent or food and other few things,(maybe for club registration, fundraising, and so on.)
Now, one disease that is killing students in campus is comparison. We all come from different backgrounds with different upbringings but the same goal, which is to study and put on that graduation regalia. So once on campus, we tend to forget about our origin, who we are, and where we come from, we compare ourselves with others and try to fit in their shoe. Your fellow student might be coming from a well of family and your family you feed on hand to mouth but you seriously forget all that and try to be like the other.
So this is what comrade does, my fellow comrade does all this fancy things,goes for parties, buys that new goldish and fashion watch,anything on fashion he/she already has it, buys a television and that expensive phone.One thing,I forget that they have money and am just there waiting for that helb,so once it's out i go and purchase all that my friend has so that we are on the same lane. This is so bad because at the end I won't pay my fee and end up not sitting for my exams.What a lose.Are we on competition?
The other thing after comparison is relationship. Now, this is funny, so here are two comrades, bit and for who are dating. You all know the song that your partner ought to always be happy mostly my brothers.So the boy waits for any amount of money including helb, he picks the money purchases all that the girlfriend desires. What happens is that this boy won't sit for his end of semester exams but the gir will. This is a lot, you all know for one to graduate what is required in terms of exams, the girl will graduate but the boy will have miles to continue counting before graduating.
There are so many things that would lead to mismanagement of money but this can be overcomed one through:
-Know who you are,understand yourself and where you come from.If it's from a well to do family this money you can use it to invest or save because time awaits no man and soon enough you'll be out of campus, don't wish to tarmac year's looking for a job, it's hectic.
-Value Your parents, they do a lot to see us through, they pass through a lot to see you study and become a better person than they are. So the little they send just appreciate and use it wisely.
-I wish I began with this but, let's put God first, seek his kingdom and all these things will be added to us. Love God and ask for wisdom from him to guide us on how we ought to think and do with our money.
-Never compare yourself with the other person,you're unique in your own way plus God loves when we're contented with what we have, no matter how small. He'll bless you in that situation.
-If you're in a relationship choose that person who is satisfied with the little you have and accepts you the way you are and who you are. Understand each other.
