Everyone is talking about Harry Kane after last night.

On Monday October 26, 2026, at the London Palladium, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane won the Ballon d'Or for the first time in his career. He beat Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to win the 70th edition of the award.

This is historic. Kane is the first English player to win the Ballon d'Or since Michael Owen in 2001.

WHY KANE DESERVED IT:

Kane was unstoppable last season. He scored 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches and won the German league with Bayern Munich. He also scored 14 goals in 13 Champions League matches and 6 goals at the 2026 World Cup as England finished third. He also won the Gerd Muller Trophy as top scorer.

WHY MBAPPE FANS ARE VEXED:

Mbappe was the top scorer in both La Liga and Champions League and became the World Cup all-time top scorer, breaking Lionel Messi's record. But he won no major trophy with Real Madrid or France. France Football said the gap between Kane and Mbappe was very small, less than 41 points.

WHAT ABOUT YAMAL?

Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Trophy for best young player, but many Barcelona fans think he should have won the main prize.

For me, Kane deserved it because he suffered for many years at Tottenham without a trophy, and now at 33 years old he finally has Bundesliga titles and the Ballon d'Or.

What do you think? Did Kane deserve it or should Mbappe have won? Drop your opinion in the comments.
