EASY HOME REMEDIES FOR ACNE

 

1). Grape Cleanser

According to an article published in 2016(Allergology and Dermatology), resveratrol a compound found in red grapes may exhibit bactericidal activity against Cutibacterium acnes formerly known as Priopionibacterium acnes. C. acnes is a bacteria in the sebaceous glands that contributes to acne

Application

vCut 2 - 3 grapes in half

vRub the flesh over your face and neck

vRinse off with cool water after 15minutes

 

2). Cucumber/Oatmeal/Yoghurt Face mask mix

A past review has shown that cucumbers reduce skin irritation, swelling and pain. Hence they potentially relieve inflammation specifically associated with acne by offering a modest calming benefit.

Application

vBlend one small cucumber with a cup of oatmeal

vMix 1 tsp with yoghurt

vApply on face.

vRinse off after 30 minutes.

 

 

 

 

3)Cucumber face mask

 If you don’t have oatmeal/yoghurt, you can use this remedy. This remedy soothes and smoothens the face that has been rough due to acne.

Applications

vMash one whole cucumber

vDrain the water

vAdd one tsp of sugar and mix properly

vApply to face and leave it for 10minutes

vWash off with cold water

 

4) Simple Honey mask

Honey has many healing properties. According to an article published in August 2016 in the Central Asian Journal of Global Health studies indicate that the antibacterial properties of honey may promote healing of burns and wound infections and inhibit the growth of C.acnes

Applications

vRinse face with warm water

vApply honey on the skin

vLeave it for 30 minutes

vRinse off with warm water.

 

5) Yeast and Yoghurt mask for oily skin

Although more research is needed, evidence published in 2015 suggested that fermented dairy products may promote skin health. Yoghurt is also a probiotic which may inhibit C.acnes.

 

Application

vMix 1 tsp of brewer’s yeast with a little plain yoghurt

vApply to all the oily areas

vLeave for 15-20 minutes

vRinse with warm water

vUse cold water to close the pores

 

6). Oatmeal facial

The anti-inflammatory properties of oatmeal are naturally soothing and may relieve irritation caused by rashes, burns, itch, eczema according to a research published in the Journal of Drugs and Dermatology. Oatmeal also has skin protecting and hydrating properties.

Application

vMix 2 tsp of oatmeal, 1 tsp of baking soda and water to form a paste

vApply of face and gently rub

vRinse thoroughly after 10 minutes.

 

7) Turmeric Facial mask

It possesses anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties according to a review published in 2016(Phytotherapy Research).

 

 

 

 

Application

vMix ½ cup of chickpea flour,2tsp of turmeric powder, sandalwood powder and almond oil.

vCombine with water to make a paste.

vApply and leave for 5 – 10 minutes.

vRub gently

 

vRinse well with water after 10 minutes
