Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber have been spotted in public for the first time since the tragic death of their only son, Presley Gerber.
The 60-year-old supermodel and the 64-year-old Casamigos Tequila co-founder were photographed on Saturday, October 10, holding hands while taking a quiet walk on Zuma Beach in Malibu, California.
According to TMZ and Page Six, the couple dressed in simple matching outfits. Cindy wore a long-sleeved white shirt with black yoga leggings, a baseball cap and sneakers while Rande coordinated in a white T-shirt, black shorts and a hat. The photos show them holding hands tightly as they walked.
This emotional outing comes just three weeks after their son Presley passed away on September 20 at the age of 27.
Presley reportedly died of a suspected overdose and cardiac arrest just hours after checking into Resolutions Living, a sober living facility in Santa Monica. According to reports, first responders were called to the facility in the morning and found him deceased. His official cause of death has been listed as “deferred” pending further toxicology results.
The family has been staying away from the public eye since the devastating news. A family representative earlier told Page Six that the family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.
Longtime family friend and Rande's business partner, Hollywood actor George Clooney, broke his silence on Friday at the Albies event. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said the tragedy is one of the most devastating things that has happened to their family.
“Quite honestly, it’s one of the most devastating things that’s happened to our family. And their family is just… as you can imagine,” Clooney said.
Cindy and Rande who married in 1998 are also parents to 25-year-old model Kaia Gerber. Weeks before Presley's death, Kaia had spoken openly about her brother's struggles with addiction and mental health.
Presley, who followed his mother into modeling and also worked as a tattoo artist, had been open about his battles over the years.
Fans around the world have continued to send love and prayers to the Gerber family.
