Most often, we are desirous and covetous enough, we sacrifice our precious time, work for long hours, and deprive ourselves from leisure.
We even go the extra mile, and do whatever it takes just to fulfill our dreams.
In my journey through this life, I came across temporary defeats and road blocks that makes me feel like giving up and quitting.
But then, there are intuitions that always flood my subconscious mind;
“You can do it, go for what you want, keep trying, you’ll achieve it.”
And these are words that kept me going.
There was a guy I met, when I was taking my third (UTME Examination) who elucidated to me that, if he didn’t make it, it’s going to be his last (UTME Examination).
Because he sat for the exams like 5-6 times without making it. So he decided to give up, he thought that going to tertiary institution is not his destiny.
I felt sorry for him, and I was touched by his story because I knew how one feels to undergo the stress and long queues just to get registered for UTME, and still end up not making it.
I advised and counselled him that he should never give up in life no matter what’s, keep trying, the Almighty is together with you.
I tried all possible to convinced him with my words. And lastly, he promised me that he will keep trying till he make it.
Then, this story reminds me a story of a guy named Usman, whose dreams was to study medicine and surgery.
The first time he sat for (UTME Examination) he scored 272, with good grades in WASSCE.
With his superb UTME score and good grades in O’level. He ended up not being admitted.
The following year he still applied the same course and institution with an excellent UTME score that could have at least secure him an admission to study his dream course.
But he lost the admission again.
Family and friends started criticizing him that he should change to another course. Studying medicine and surgery is not for him.
Some even said that his destiny didn’t lie there. He paid deaf ears to their words, he vow never to give in, because he developed the desire and passion, with believe that his dreams will surely come true. He accepted that failure is not a barrier to success.
So, he kept on trying, he took several examinations before securing an admission to study his dreams course,
(medicine and surgery) in the prestigious university of Maiduguri.
Believe me, destiny can only be delayed but not denied. If you have the burning desire and definiteness of purpose you can achieve anything you want.
Be a practical dreamer.
Don’t let people walk you out of your dreams.
Nothing seems impossible
Keep trying. Success is at your doorstep.
