Everyone says money does not stay. Before month ends, it is finished. Salary is the same but things are more expensive.

But some people have found a way to use the same phone that makes them spend money, to save money.

First type is apps that lock your money. We all know ourselves. If money is in our main account, we will spend it. Apps that help you keep money aside so you cannot touch it until a date you choose help remove temptation.

Second type is apps that show where your money goes. You think you spend small on data and food, but when you check the app, you see you spent twenty five thousand on delivery alone last month. When you see where your money goes, you start to control it.

Third type is apps that give you small cashback. When you buy airtime, pay light bill or pay for TV subscription, they return small money to you. One hundred naira here, two hundred there. By year end it becomes something big.

Fourth type is apps where you sell things you no longer use. That old phone in your drawer, that bag you have not used in one year, that shoe that is still fine. Someone on marketplace needs it and will pay you for it.

Fifth type is new apps that use smart technology to warn you. They tell you if you continue spending like this, you will be broke by 18th of the month. They remind you to save before you finish everything.

You do not need one million to start saving. You need to be intentional with the small you have. Your phone can make you broke with online shopping, or it can help you save. You choose.
