Hercules is the Roman name for the Greek hero and strongman Herakles , he's is one of the most popular figures in the ancient Greek mythology .
Hercules is the son of Zeus the king of gods and Alcmene a mortal woman whom Zeus made love with , Zeus was a notorious god in the aspect of relating with women , he was always going from one woman to another , he had to take the form of Alcmene's husband Amphitryon in order to sleep with Alcmene and that came about the birth of the heroic Hercules as a demi god with incredible strength and power, he performed amazing things, one was recorded that he fought with death . He's amazing story was told throughout Greece and Rome
Despite the heroic abilities of Hercules, his life wasn't still peaceful right from his childhood days and this was because Hera, Zeus's wife knew that Hercules wasn't Zeus legitimate son . His original name was Alcaeus, which was later changed to Herakles which means ' glory of Hera" in English signifying that he will be lifted through the difficulties and battles with the goddess Hera
