I was stuck at 8/12 profile completion on Fiverr for weeks. Today at 2:34pm, I finally got my gig LIVE and ACTIVE. Here's exactly how I did it from Port Harcourt, using only my phone.
Step 1: The "View Desktop Version" Trick (2:34pm)
Fiverr kept showing "We suggest viewing desktop version" when I tried to publish. Solution? On iPhone/Android browser, tap AA > Request Desktop Website. Or better, tap OPEN to use Fiverr App. This instantly unlocked the publish button.
Step 2: ID Verification in 5 Minutes (2:34 - 2:39pm)
Fiverr asked for government ID. I used my NIN slip. Tips:
• Use clear camera, no flash
• Make sure name matches Fiverr profile exactly
• Submit and wait 3-5 mins - don't close app!
Mine was approved in 5 minutes!
Step 3: W-9 Tax Form - Where Nigerians Get Stuck (2:41pm)
This is where 90% of Nigerians fail. Fiverr asks for US tax form.
What to fill:
• Line 1: Your full legal name (as on ID)
• Country: Nigeria
• Tax Status: Individual
• TIN: Leave blank or put NIN - Fiverr accepts!
• Sign digitally
Tap Submit. Approved instantly!
Step 4: Publish Gig - The Final Click (2:47pm)
After tax, go to Gigs > Overview > Pricing > Description > Requirements > Gallery. Tap SAVE on each, even if already filled. Then hit PUBLISH.
You will see: "Your Gig is open for business!"
Step 5: Get Your Share Link
My gig link looks like: fiverr.com
To get yours: Tap gig image > Copy link from address bar, or use Share icon in Fiverr App.
My Result Today:
• 2:34pm: Not verified, 0 gigs
• 2:49pm: ACTIVE gigs (1), Status: ACTIVE
• 2:56pm: Got share link, posted on WhatsApp
3 Tips to Get First Order in 24 Hours:
1. Stay online on Fiverr App - green dot = more orders
2. Post gig link on WhatsApp Status & LinkedIn with caption
3. Reply to inquiries in under 5 minutes
Don't wait for desktop or laptop. Your phone is enough to become a global freelancer from Nigeria.
