How many lives today are changed by one small act of a 14 year old Joseph Smith

In New York, there was civilization and many people lived and did different things according to their will and beliefs. In the year 1820, there was a young boy named Joseph Smith Junior and his family were Christians, so they went to church. When Joseph noticed at his young age of the different denominations and beliefs. He was confused on why was that.

So he investigated the matter which confused him more than enlightening him. His mother went to Presbyterian church and his father to a Baptist church. Confused he was because of the different teachings taught. He then decided to read his Bible to try and find answers. In the book of James he read, in the first chapter the fifth verse which reads "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who giveth to men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him."

This verse struck young Joseph deeply and he decided to follow James's council, which is to ask God. So one morning in the spring time of the year 1820, Joseph went to pray in groove of trees near his home. To ask God and hoping with faith that He will answer him.

Today with millions of other people,I stand as a witness of the truthfulness of what happened when he prayed. In his own words, Joseph Smith said as he prayed: I saw a pillar of of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When this light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and Glory defies all descriptions. Standing above me in the air, one spoke unto me, pointing to the other calling me by name and said, Joseph this is my Beloved Son hear Him."

I know this experience of Joseph Smith is truly amazing and true that God the Father and Son appeared to him and instructed him not to join any church present that time because they were all wrong. He then was used to bring or restore backthe church organised while he was on earth. Today we have that church and is called The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints .
