If your WhatsApp is acting strange, don't ignore it. Here are 5 signs to check right now.

1. WhatsApp Logs You Out By Itself
If you open WhatsApp and it asks for verification code again, someone logged in on another phone. Hackers do this when they get your 6-digit code.
What to do: Don't share any code with anybody. Even if person say na from WhatsApp.
2. Messages You Did Not Send
Open your chats. If you see messages like "send me money" or links you never sent, your account don waka.
I saw 3 messages sent to my contacts asking for airtime. I never send am.
3. Battery and Data Draining Fast
Hacked WhatsApp runs for background. If your phone hot, battery dey drain, and 2GB data finish in 1 day, check am.
Go to Settings > Battery > Check WhatsApp usage. If high, na sign.
4. Check Linked Devices (Most Important)
This is where you go catch the hacker.
- Open WhatsApp
- Click 3 dots for top right
- Click Linked Devices
- If you see laptop, Chrome, or device you no know, click Log Out
I found 1 Chrome browser from Lagos. I no dey Lagos. I logged out immediately.
5. You Receive Verification Codes You Did Not Request
If you receive SMS "Your WhatsApp code is 123-456" and you no request am, someone dey try to enter your account.
Never forward that code. WhatsApp will never ask for it on phone call.
How to Secure Your WhatsApp in 2 Minutes:
1. Turn on Two-Step Verification: Settings > Privacy > Two-step verification > Set 6-digit PIN. Remember am.
2. Log out all linked devices
3. Set fingerprint lock: Settings > Privacy > Fingerprint lock > On
4. Tell your contacts if you were hacked so they no send money to scammer
3 Mistakes to Avoid:
1. Don't click any link wey say "You win N50k on WhatsApp" - it's hack link
2. Don't give your 6-digit code to anybody, even if they say it's your friend
