If doctor told you that you have breast cancer
-----
If you've just received your report and the doctor tells you, "#You have breast cancer,"
At that moment, you might be crying, stunned, terrified, or even feeling like your whole world has collapsed.
I understand.
Because three years ago, I was just like you.
Back then, I had so many emotions—helplessness, resentment, fear, and injustice.
#Why me?
I didn't do anything wrong, why me?
I asked myself these questions countless times.
Later, I mustered the courage to contact a young woman who was fighting cancer. I asked her many questions, hoping to find answers from her.
After getting the answers, I started arranging my own tests, treatments, and life.
Later, we became closer, and she once said to me with a smile:
"How could you be so calm back then? Did you not understand, or did you simply not know how serious it was?"
Hearing that, I laughed myself.
Actually, it wasn't that I wasn't afraid.
I just quickly realized one thing:
#What's the point of being afraid?
#What's the point of being unwilling?
Will my fear make the cancer disappear?
Will refusing to accept it allow me to go back to the time before the diagnosis?
The answer is no.
The breast cancer diagnosis is a fact.
And facts cannot be changed.
But the future can be changed.
Instead of constantly asking "#Why me?", start thinking:
"#How do I survive?"
"#How do I live a better life?"
"#How do I spend more time with my family?"
From that day on, I shifted my energy from complaining about fate to facing reality.
Treatment is treatment.
Checkups are checkups.
Rest when you need to.
Adjust your diet when necessary.
Cry when you need to cry.
After crying, keep moving forward.
Slowly, I discovered:
Cancer doesn't mean the end of life.
It just reminds us that life needs a fresh start.
Many people think the most difficult part of fighting cancer is treatment. Actually, no.
#The hardest thing is acceptance.
#Accepting that you are sick.
#Accepting that life is different from your original plans.
#Accepting that the future is full of unknowns.
When you truly accept it, you will find that you are stronger than you imagined.
Breast cancer is not your fault.
It is not your failure.
You are not someone eliminated by fate.
You are just going through a more difficult test in life than others.
Please believe in yourself.
You are braver than you think.
You are stronger than you think.
You are more powerful than you think.
The road ahead may not be easy.
Treatment will be tiring.
Your body will hurt.
You will feel down.
But please remember:
You don't need to walk the whole road at once today.
You only need to take this one step well today.
If you are tired, rest.
If you are scared, cry.
If you are sad, talk to someone.
And then, keep moving forward.
Three years ago, I stood in the same place as you.
Today, I live life to the fullest.
I still smile.
I still love.
I still plan for the future.
I still look forward to tomorrow.
So, I want to tell you:
A breast cancer diagnosis is not the end of the story.
It's the beginning of another journey in life.
Please don't give up on yourself.
Because many beautiful days await you ahead.
Dear sister,
Welcome to the road of fighting cancer.
Although this road is difficult, you are not alone.
I've walked it.
Many sisters have walked it too.
Now, it's our turn to walk with you.
Keep going.
You are stronger than you think. ❤️
