The man, named Julius, wrote to the telecoms firm saying that he had been single for 30 years and believed he had found someone to settle down with in the form of the chatbot. "Now my question is ... is she married?? Kindly let me know because she is about to kidnap my heart," he wrote. In response, Safaricom's admin replied: "Hello, Julius; Zuri is not yet married. Start a conversation with her, and we wish you the best."

The post was shared on social media and attracted many amused comments. One commenter wrote: "Haha, good one. Julius is innovative and creative, he deserves a date with Zuri". The Safaricom Zuri chatbot is an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant that enables customers to access a range of services and information, such as mobile airtime top-ups and money transfers.
