My poor bird Ellie peters

Today I lost my best friend Ellie

Ellie peters was 23 years old. Ellie had been slowing down the past few months, and then my mom found Ellie weak on the bottom of Ellie own cage yesterday and my mom called me. I came home for Ellie right away.

When I got towards Ellie, I stayed with Ellie the whole night. I held Ellie, kept Ellie warm, watched Ellie own breathing, and tried to make Ellie as comfortable as I could. Even when Ellie was really weak, Ellie still came toward my face, Ellie tripping over himself clumsily, and Ellie relaxed when I touched Ellie. Ellie was not frantic, Ellie just seemed tired than before.

As the hours went on, Ellie got weaker. I did not want to risk crushing Ellie if I fell asleep, so I bundled Ellie gently and lay next to Ellie with my face just for a few inches away. I stayed with Ellie until around three thirty am in the morning. Ellie was calm and breathing.

Sometime while comforting Ellie, around 3:30am, I fell asleep with my faces just inches from Ellie. Ellie could feel the warmth of my breath and Ellie could hear my breathing I am sure. When I woke up at around 4:00am, less than thirty minutes later, Ellie was still slightly warm. There was not even a struggle or anything dramatic. It was just still.

Ellie did not die alone. Ellie was not being abandoned. I came home as soon as I knew that something was wrong with Ellie, and I stayed with Ellie until Ellie died . Ellie and I have been together since I was five years old and Ellie imprinted on me immediately. I just feel lost. I am happy I was there for Ellie and gave Ellie comfort and security in the end of Ellie own life, but it is still so surreal to me . I thought that Ellie would really live forever. The last few photos of Ellie are only  some Ellie photos from just a few months ago, Ellie was so full of life. Rest in peace my little Ellie.
