NIGERIA @ 61

I wish to put pen to paper with a little but needed digression to express my undiluted and realistic view about Nigeria.

In the recent past, I had this privilege, perhaps due to the fact that the people in power made the pen which is supposed to be mightier and sharper than the sword to be weaker and useless against them; most writers are now puppets in the hands of these selfish leaders, always writing and publishing exactly what they want to hear on air.

The politicians who call themselves patriots are indirectly sending the next generation to come, to a perpetual imprisonment in the vineyard of penury.

"The glaring fact is that the administration of the country is in a state of confusion from time Immemorial and their flaws are very strong, which has made it so difficult for peaceful coexistence."

As a citizen of Nigeria, look into the mirror and tell me you’re not heroic; that you’ve not endured, suffered or lost the things you care about most, and yet, here you are, a survivor of this ridiculous nation, almost the hardest place anyone could think of, a place where the weak do not last long, a place where selfish rulers occupy the seat of power only to syphon the riches God blessed the nation with.

Most of you the Electorates have also failed in doing the right thing, because you have refused to stand against evil.

You gave your legislative, executive and judicial rights away the moment you collected money from these selfish politicians to legislate wrongly, execute blindly and falsify proceedings in the judiciary; you sold your franchise for peanuts.

Some of you who wants favour will go as far as printing billboards with obvious lies, online publications about non-existent projects, Just to stay in the good books of these Politicians; who is fooling who?

Some left and some stayed back hoping to see the bright light of goodness.

Some wants to keep the nation safe, others go to the streets, cities, local governments, states, trying to cause havoc and waste souls in the name of open grazing.

Some also hope they can stop the crimes, cruelty and disregard on humanity, but this is Nigeria, where a particular zone will always want to be god over other zones because they have their own in power.

In this nation, angel or devil, rich or poor, young or old; you all live here, you didn’t choose this country, rather you were forced into this entity, so you have the right to choose now where you want to belong and what you stand for….

✓✓A good government doesn't autocratically impose their own laws on people, by implication, dictators who invaded the era of democracy with the system of militocracy/khakitocracy, a government characterized by force and dictatorship, a government that rules by decree, in other words, we must obey their will and decree if we want to live.

✓✓They brought kleptocracy into the era of democracy; a government characterized by thievery, by implication, it’s a government by rogues.

✓✓They brought fascism into democracy; a type of system that developed in Italy under “benito musollini”, a government that operates under strong propaganda machinery that has no respect for fundamental human rights, citizens lives could be taken at will under the pretense that its meant to save national interest… in reference to the killings of the agitators for self-determination and the extraordinary Rendition of the leader of IPOB, which is a crime against humanity; you don’t silence a man who has a strong ideology of what he wants to be.

✓✓They  brought totalitarianism into democracy, a form of government that seek to control every aspect of human lives, a government that has no place for fundamental human right, a government that does not tolerate opposition or dissenting voices, in reference to their agenda which is to fight corruption, they diverted to fighting opposition, but corruption is in abundance right in their midst, and the leader left these corrupt rogues working with him because they all joined his party... If you want to be seen as a saint, you just need to Join their Political party.

✓✓They brought absolute monarchy into the era of democracy, a system where the president is highly above the laws and his powers cannot be circumscribed by any constitutional provision; he decides who the court grants bail and who the court shouldn’t grant bail.

✓✓They brought oligarchy/Gerontocracy into democracy, a form of government that is based on age qualification, by implication, it’s a government by the elders; an undemocratic type of government for the old and elderly people, but they call the youths leaders of tomorrow, in  other words, the tomorrow they are referring to will only come when they die.

Emmanuel Macron became the president of france at age 39 and france as a country is over 100 years, but here in Nigeria, the reverse is the case, our leaders are older than the country itself; tell me how the country will move forward!

✓✓They brought theocracy into democracy, a government by a religious group that sees other religion as nothing, as exemplified by Iran under Ayatollah Khomeini, Saudi Arabia under king Abdullah; they see other religious groups as infidels.

✓✓They brought Unitarianism into democracy, an undemocratic system of government where the powers and authority rest with the central government,  every other administrative unit will exist at the mercy of the central government, therefore as subordinate to the center and can be dissolved by the central; they decide who becomes the governor in a state because your votes will never count.

✓✓Nigeria is 61 now, what have we really achieved?

✓✓61 years of backwardness;  (when other countries are launching rockets to space, we're still talking about open grazing for cows)

✓✓61 years of consistent power failure

✓✓61 years of bad governance

✓✓61 years of money laundering

✓✓61 years of underdevelopment

✓✓61 years of corrupt governors, senators, presidents etc

✓✓61 years of extrajudicial killing of millions of innocent souls.

✓✓61 years of terrorism.

✓✓61 years and the Naira is now completely worthless.

✓✓61 years of huge foreign debts

✓✓61 years of Nepotism, marginalization and incompetence.

whether you believe it or not; the only set of people proud of Nigeria now are the Politicians, their puppets and their families.

No reasonable human will ever be proud of failure, because Nigeria is a total failure!!!
