THE INDEPENDENCE DAY

I write to my nation....

It also started in a journey of miles,

To serve our fatherland

In love and in strength

Regardless of the corruption in the land

Yet,we fought to uphold the justice

Crimes and threats hovering over all the land

Yet we fought as heroes past

Fire 🔥 burning all over our bodies,

Yet we fought to uphold our nation

Chanting our national anthem,

Yet we were burnt up to death

Moving forward with our nation's flag,

Yet we endured the pain

Bullets flying all over the sky,

Killing and slaughtering our men of war,

Yet,we kept on moving ahead

Bartons and flag being handed to the men ahead

Yet, we paid the price

Oh, with bullets in our bodies,we sing aloud

Arise o compatriots

Nigeria's call obey

To serve our fatherland

With love and strength and faith

The labour of our heroes past

Shall never be in vain

To Serve with heart and might

One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity

They tried to restrict us!

But we cried out

I pledge to Nigeria my country

To be faithful, loyal and honest

To serve Nigeria with all my strength

To defend her unity

And uphold thy honor and glory

Oh help us Lord

The dignity of our nation was established by the price we paid

Fighting to eliminate crimes and corruption in our fatherland

But what do we get in return??

BRUTALITY!

BRUTALITY!!

BRUTALITY!!!

Exhibited by the leaders now

Killing and slaughtering our children we raised..

Practicing terrorism and they call it tribalism

Our souls and spirit are in tears

Crying "PEACE AND UNITY" please be restored in this INDEPENDENCE DAY being 1st of October...
