Not so common places to visit this Valentine's

1.      Lake Challa

This tranquil and inviting lake is nestled between Kenya and Tanzania. A cool serene feel surrounds this lake. Stepping into the shores of the lakes will definitely imbue a wonderful time well spent in nature with the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro and a horizon of turquoise blue waters.

 

 

 

2.      The Gura River

Who would have thought that the fastest river in Kenya and Africa is not known to many? Gura River in Nyeri County holds this title. It boasts of the longest waterfalls in the country. A picnic by the banks of this amazingly fast river will be a treat to both the eyes and the hearts of lovebirds

3.      The Dragon Teeth

Yes, that’s right, and just as the name suggests, this is for adrenaline junkies, fitness enthusiast couples. It is found in the majestic Aberdare moor emerging jagged-edged from the ground. It is a perfect destination for a lovely workout session

4.      Three Sister caves.

If History and archeology put a smile on your loved one, these caves are unspoiled and ready to invite you in. They are located in Tswaka village in Fikirini. One of the caves has a freshwater well which is the perfect spot for bird watching and if lucky enough some baboons can grace the occasion too!

5.      Eliye Beach

For those who prefer private and secluded places, Eliye Beach in Turkana serves just that. Talk of long walks on the beach undisturbed without a crowd, Acool night out in the dunes, as the waves from Lake Turkana soothe you to sleep. Night sky lovers paradise, for at night, the sky is clear and filled with inviting stars. Perfect valentine's gateway!

6.      The blood-red lake in Kapedo

I know! Kapedo and one’s mind goes to gunfights! Beyond this bad reputation, Kapedo is home to this beautiful lake that is red in color, no pun intended but huh red, valentine. The lake is full of red algae which gives it the red hue. A Road trip to the blood-red lake is also a feast to the eyes with its scenic panoramic views.
