Rail Way Development minister John Peter Amewu Award Schorlaship to students

The member of parliament for Hohoe Constituency and Minister of Rail Way Development, Honourable John Peter Amewu has on Monday 14th February,2022 awarded educational scholarship to needed but brilliant students hailing from his Constituency the. First time the MP is taking this step.

The member of parliament in awarding the scholarship to fifty-five (55) students stated that the schorlaship awarded to the students is to enable the beneficiaries pay their school fees. The amount given was to respective students ranges from one-thousand Ghana cedis to four-thousand Ghana cedis (¢1000 - ¢4000) depending on the school fees amount.

The source of funding for this program is the MP's Common Fund as stated by the member of parliament. The member of parliament also added that he intends to continue to support them till their graduation once they maintain a good level of academic performance.

The honourable minister for Rail Way Development also spoke on His scholarship program to support ten (10) brilliant students from Hohoe to continue their tertiary education at Ivy-league universities in the US, adding that the program is currently going on, and the students are preparing to write their SAT exams soon.

The beneficiaries consist of students pursuing courses at University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Education Wineba (UEW), UHAS, HO TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, FRANCO(St. Francis training college), TERESCO (St. Theresa's training college), etc.

Hon. John Peter Amewu noted that Some of the students were also graduates of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's free Senior High School (SHS) program and were part of the Students for Amewu 2020 campaign volunteer group.

In concluding his statement the Honourable member of parliament said his agenda to invest in Hohoe's educational transformation is part of his legacy projects.
