Optimal Health is your complete physical, emotional and relational well-being.
It's not just the absence or prevention of disease but also taking an active role in the vitality of those plans and activities that make up your whole(being at your best and having balance in many areas of your life.
To my mind, optimal health is personal,it depends on who you are,where you've been,healthwise,who you associate with,what you deal with and where you are today.
The optimal health of a young boxer is different from that of a 60-something year old woman.This is because we all are very different and complex persons.We grow and change as different challenges, problems and needs become a part of our lives.
But how do we continue to grow and keep in good health?
We can continue growing and keeping good health by not just self medical care or treatment of health problems but also increasing your potentials..
There are 5 areas of Health and how to achieve them:
*Physical health:This Relates to your body.It can be achieved by good nutrition, exercise,proper medical self care and treatment of health problems.
*Emotional health:This Refers to your state of mind.It can be achieved by how you react to your day to day stresses, your sense of worth,recognizing your feelings and expressing them, your ability to relax and enjoy leisure.
*Social health: Refers to your relationship with people.
It can be achieved by being less critical to others, having healthy interactions with friends and family, showing more affectiontoward loved ones.
*Spiritual health:This includes having a sense of purpose in life.
It can be achieved by your ability to give and receive love, your ability to feel goodwill toward others, attending religious meetings.
*Intellectual health: Results from the mental stimulation and development we get through work, school, social gatherings,etc.
This can be achieved by improving your skills for studying and learning, writing down your thoughts be frequently and Talking.
There are so many more ways to achieve optimal health but you should know that optimal health is being as healthy as only you can be.
