SOLAR
The Kenya Power company is one very inefficient state corporation in Kenya. They subject Kenyans to constant blackouts, huge and often exaggerated bills, and exorbitant connection charges.
It is because of this that solar-powered devices, commonly referred to as solar, have found their way into the homes of many. And these are real life savers. Almost every home in the villages has a solar-powered device. The most common ones are M-KOPA solar, and Sunking. They come with a solar panel./
Nowadays, we have seen gadgets that are versatile: they play radio, play music through Bluetooth, memory card and USB drive, have a torch, a lantern, could light bulbs and charge phones. Some even have TV decoders and could play some TV sets. What else could someone in rural Kenya ask for?
The only problems these gadgets have are that they are not made in Kenya and cannot run heavy appliances.
