"Stalled Justice: Villagers Demand Action in Long-Delayed UED-SP Fraud Case in Pinggir"

Pinggir, Bengkalis –

The residents of Pinggir Village, located in Bengkalis Regency, are growing increasingly frustrated over the prolonged lack of progress in the investigation into the alleged misappropriation of Village Economic Unit - Savings and Loans (UED-SP) funds. The case, which has remained unresolved for over two years, is drawing public criticism toward both the Bengkalis Regency Inspectorate and the Anti-Corruption Unit (Tipikor) of Bengkalis Police.

Despite prior involvement from the Tipikor Unit, including audits and summoning UED-SP fund users for questioning, no significant developments have emerged. Villagers are now questioning the commitment and efficiency of the authorities in handling the case.

When contacted for clarification on Monday, July 7, 2025, a representative from the Tipikor Unit responded via WhatsApp, stating, "Who said it's not being processed? I’m handling it, please be patient. Everything will come to light." However, such assurances have done little to ease public concerns.

Local residents are demanding that the authorities expedite the investigation and ensure those found guilty are held accountable under the law. Transparency and justice are key demands from the community, who feel left in the dark about the status of the case.

“We want clarity and justice,” said a concerned Pinggir resident. “We don’t want this case to drag on endlessly without any concrete resolution.”

The villagers are urging both the Bengkalis Inspectorate and the Tipikor Unit to collaborate effectively in resolving the case and restoring public trust. As the community continues to wait, the call for accountability grows louder.
