The African Trade has been a tremendous way of interaction between small villages, communities, provinces and even among other African countries in the past years.
One of the trade that stands out is the Trans- Saharan Trade which involves trading between the West Africa and North Africa counties. Both countries exchange goods like gold, salt, guns, black pepper, hides and skin, kola nuts, beads among others. Their major meeting points was the Old Ghana.
Trans- saharan trade had some major effects on West African countries like it stimulate gold mining, it led to increase in demand for goods from West Africa counties, and most centres like Gao, Kumbi saleh jenne and some others gained more popularity.
The Trans- Saharan also led to some development in West Africa. We will look at the developments and impacts on West Africa counties as a result of the trade.
