The plight of being a first-born child

I am a first-born and for as long as I can remember I've been independent . I didn't get to be pampered forcing me to adapt very early.

Am sure even the decisions are dependent on the first-borns, and the plight of the younger siblings if the parents are not around.

I remember one time our last-born was very ill and my parents happened to have visited grandma a few miles from home. I was left with my sister hence I had to pause my work.

She was having seizures and very violent once, I stared at her for a second contemplating on what to do then I remembered I had some first aid books on seizures.

I quickly laid her down , inserted a spoon in her mouth to , put a pillow under her head.

The exercise took half an hour before the paramedics arrived. They were shocked, amazed even that I had done it alone and the thanked me profusely for saving my sister's life.
