It is a fundamental concern. A reality that most of the chronic diseases that humans suffer today are actually lifestyle induced especially the food we consume. Some of them includes these food items that impacts negatively on the body metabolism:
• Food bought from fast food joints and eateries including the popular Mama Put joints. The fried foods that are sold in these places creates carcinogenic effects in the body because they are usually prepared with oil that have been heated and re - heated so many times and used multiple times
• Processed foods like Appple syrup,soda, pasta especially when the water used to parboil the pasta is not drained out to remove the chemical used as preservative
• Excessive salt intake
• Sweetened baked foods
• Saturated fats found in fatty cuts of meat, red meat that increases LDL or Bad Cholesterol and leads to Heart Disease when consumed in high quantity
• Excessive sugar intake
• Refined carbohydrates as found in white Bread. This can lead to mental illness, lowered intelligence in children,dementia and obesity
The intake of these foods should be avoided or at least be reduced to the barest minimum in terms of their intake. They contain multiple chemicals and synthetic ingredients that are not healthy. They are infact nutrtionally barren, highly flavoured and they most times contain artificial colouring agents.
These edibles should be consumed with care and in moderation considering their side effects and the high cost of Health Care now.
