Education sector has received unmatched attention recently following the students unrest and fire outbreaks which resulted to disruption of activities in schools. There is need to ensure that these incidences are reduced and ensured that they will never happen. For this to happen, problems relating to students should be addressed in schools.

The main cause of violence among students is boredom and idleness. To ensure this issue is addressed is by ensuring students are preoccupied with various activities, also enhancing and expanding co-curricular activities in schools and also ensuring healthy competition among students. These will ensure that idleness is averted and hence hooliganism will be minimized.

Drug and substance abuse is another cause of hooliganism in schools. To ensure that this issue is addressed, there should be a zero tolerance policy adopted against use of drugs, also guidance and counselling should be strengthened in schools to ensure drugs are averted.

Poor communication among students and teachers due to disconnection is another cause of hooliganism. The remedy for this is to ensure there is open dialogues  and also suggestion boxes should be installed for students to air their views.

Fear of examination among students is another cause of hooliganism. To ensure that this fear is averted is by urging students to adequately prepare for exams and also schools should have a clear exam policy and producing exam timetables on time.

Poor spiritual foundation and cultism in schools is another reason hooliganism. Provision of spiritual guidance and ensuring that students attend at least two spiritual services for guidance every week are ways to ensure that this issue is addressed.

Finally, peer pressure among students is another major cause of hooliganism. Role modelling and use of peer counselling should be strengthened so as to ensure that peer pressure among students is reduced.

From above examples, it is clear that every problem in school concerning students has a solution. Every matter should be taken seriously and addressed accordingly in schools to ensure that hooliganism is brought to an end.
