AMAZING FACT ABOUT LISA LESLIE
Lisa Deshaun Leslie, a former professional basketball player from the United States, was born on July 7, 1972. In addition to serving as the Triplets' head coach in the BIG3 professional basketball league, she also serves as a studio analyst for Fox Sports Florida's Orlando Magic broadcasts.
Lisa Leslie has won four gold medals at the Olympics and three WNBA MVP awards. She was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 1997 WNBA draft, and she played for the Los Angeles Sparks for 11 seasons, winning two WNBA titles along the way. She retired in 2009 after a distinguished career at the University of Southern California. In a WNBA game, Leslie was the first player to slam dunk. She was elected in 2011 by one of the Top 15 players in WNBA history, according to fans. EARLY LIFE OF LISA LESLIE
Leslie was born in Compton, California, the daughter of former professional basketball player Walter Leslie and Christine Lauren Leslie, who was 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) tall. To provide for her three children, Christine established her own truck driving company. When her mother was four months pregnant with her, Walter abandoned the family. Dionne is Leslie's older sister by five years, while Tiffany is her younger sister by eight years. She has an Elgin as well (named after Elgin Baylor of the LA Lakers). She participated in an all-girls team with a 33-1 record.
MIDDLE SCHOOL OF LISA LESLIE
Leslie was requested to assist the basketball team by a classmate during the first few weeks of middle school. The team was instructed to divide into lefties and righties for layup drills on the first day of basketball trials. Since Leslie was the only left-handed person in the group, she made the decision to switch to using her right hand more often in order to avoid having to form a line by her self. She became ambidextrous as a result of that choice, which was advantageous.
She joined a guys' basketball team after transferring to a junior high school without a girls' basketball team in the eighth grade. Her confidence in her playing abilities grew as a result of her success there.
HIGH SCHOOL OF LISA LESLIE
Leslie received over a hundred college recruitment letters when she was 14 years old, including some from prestigious Division I programs like the University of Tennessee and Stanford University, before she even attended high school at Morningside.
In 1986, Leslie enrolled in Inglewood, California's Morningside High School to pursue her education. She immediately had an influence on the girls' varsity basketball squad, starting each game. She participated in track and field and volleyball as well. In the 400-meter race and high jump, she ultimately qualified for the state competition. Although though she was unable to dunk the ball in the open court as a freshman in high school, by the time she was a sophomore, she was able to do so.
Ball is palmed. She was her team's top rebounder and scorer, and she helped them win the 1989 California state title. Leslie received an invitation to join the United States' Junior World Championship squad. As she approached her senior year, she rose to become the best player in the nation. She averaged 27 points and 15 rebounds per game as she helped her team win the state championship. In 1990, she and Cheryl Miller tied for the most points ever scored by a high school basketball player with 101 points each, all of which came in the first half. She had 105 points, but four of them were later nullified since the game was over after the opposition team was assessed a technical foul for a delay of game after halftime, which were subsequently thrown out since the game was declared to be over after the first half.
CAREER COLLEGE OF LISA LESLIE
From 1990 until 1994, Leslie attended the University of Southern California, a powerhouse in women's basketball. She earned a communications bachelor's degree from USC before going on to earn a master's in business administration at the University of Phoenix.
Leslie participated in 120 college games, scoring 20.1 points on average, making 53.4% of her shots, and converting 69.8% of her free throw attempts. She amassed 2,414 points, 1,214 rebounds, and 321 blocked shots to set the Pac-10 Conference records for scoring, rebounding, and blocking shots. She also has the most blocks in a single season at USC (95).
USC had an overall record of 89-31 throughout her time in college. One Pac-10 conference championship was won by them, and earned four invitations to the NCAA tournament. All-Pac-10 honors were bestowed upon Leslie for all four of his seasons. He also set a Pac-10 record by being named to the first team each year and won Pac-10 Rookie of the Year in 1991. By winning the national freshman of the year award in 1991, Leslie was also recognized on a grand scale. She was the recipient of several national player of the year honors in 1994, including the Naismith College Player of the Year, the USBWA Women's National Player of the Year, the Honda Sports Award for basketball, and the WBCA Player of the Year. She also won All-American Honors in 1992, 1993, and 1994 Along with it, she received All-American Honors.
THE WNBA AS A CAREER OF LISA LESLIE
Incorporated in 1996, the WNBA started competition in 1997. The Los Angeles Sparks selected Leslie on January 22 during the Initial Allocation stage of the draft. The Sparks won a WNBA championship in 2001, despite her assistance in helping the team reach the playoffs five times in a row. The Women's Sports Foundation named Leslie the 2001 Sportswoman of the Year (in the team category) in that year.
On July 30, 2002, Leslie became the first woman to dunk the ball in a WNBA game.
That same year she became the first WNBA player to score over 3,000 total career points and contributed to the Sparks winning their second straight WNBA championship that season. Two seasons She later became the first player to accumulate 4,000 career points. The Sparks' all-time leading scorer and rebounder is still Leslie. She ranks fourth overall in terms of rebounding, after Rebekkah Brunson, Sylvia Fowles, and Tamika Catchings. During the same season, she also achieved the triple double, being the third player in WNBA history to do it with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Leslie made history in the 2005 WNBA All-Star Game by becoming the first WNBA player to slam dunk in an all-star game. Leslie became the first player to 6,000 points in a career on August 11, 2009. She became the first player in the WNBA's "Choose One Challenge" to surpass 10,000 careers PRA (points + rebounds + assists) earlier that month She was the first player in the WNBA's "Choose One Challenge" fantasy game to earn 10,000 lifetime PRA (points + rebounds + assists).
On February 4, 2009, Leslie declared her retirement, which would take place at the conclusion of the 2009 season.
In September, the Sparks organized a send-off ceremony for Leslie before their last home game of the year.

Personal Lisa Deshaun Leslie
Leslie wed Michael Lockwood, a pilot for UP and a former basketball player for the United States Air Force Academy, on November 5, 2005. Her daughter was born in 2007, after she took a year off from playing professional basketball to become pregnant. For the 2008 season, Leslie joined the WNBA once more. 2010 saw the birth of Leslie's second child.
Leslie is a Christian as well. She openly discussed her religious beliefs in an interview, saying: "As a devout child, I was constantly placing my faith and objectives in the Lord's name. One of the things that always gave me the most assistance was that. I've always wanted to accomplish His mission. That, I believe, has been my main saving grace. When you believe, You must take the risk [and trust God]. Leslie was questioned by Gayle King on February 4, 2020, about her relationship with Kobe Bryant. Leslie was questioned regarding the 2003 sexual assault case involving Bryant. The charge did not match the person Leslie knew, she retorted.
Leslie is now a real estate agent and a co-founder of the Aston Rose sports and entertainment real estate company. On July 15, 2021, Leslie was initiated as an honorary member of the sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha.
