ARE YOU BEING PRAYED FOR or PREYED ON?

Today whether the man or woman in cloth is praying for you or preying on you is quite a hurdle. On Sunday as it’s written in the scriptures, you carry all your sorrows and take them to the alter hoping to be relieved of them as the Bible promises. However, in many instances you walk home with an even bigger burden and more tears than before.

You are very sick and you’ve already exhausted all the possible avenues that you though could provide the solution to your problem. None seems to work, and you decide to seek divine intervention so that God, the healer can surprise you with a healing miracle. The preacher, God’s vessel, prays for you vehemently. In some instances, some objects apparently the ones causing the diseases are removed from your body. Needles, stones, nails name them. You go back home rejuvenated only to die in the night because it wasn’t a miracle but just “soul” winning show in which you unknowingly played the stuntman.

Or you were so broke you went to church seeking God’s help for your financial breakthrough. The pastor dwelt on the section of the Bible declaring that only the hand that giveth is the one that receiveth. That you receive in the same measure that you gave. You are there astounded since you don’t have anything to give yet you came looking forward to receive. In your head you are finding it so hard to believe the Generous God could be this mean. So, does it mean you go get some cash, offer them to the minister, I mean God, for you to receive some cash?

Shaken but still hopeful,  you decided to seek a meeting with the Minister of the Lord outside church maybe things go easy on you. You make a call to schedule an appointment and immediately think you’ve mistakenly dialed a dentist because of the questions that come through. Consultation fees paid? Some fuel and water for the facilitator? How about the little 10% tithe for the church?

You are left devastated.
