Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has relocated Miss Ukamaka Okonkwo, a girl recently rescued from the hideout of an alleged ritualist in Ezeagu LGA, to a government facility in Enugu for therapy and rehabilitation. He also awarded her a full scholarship up to university level. The Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Mrs. Ngozi Enih, stated that the move is aimed at helping Ukamaka recover from her traumatic experience. A government delegation also visited the family of Chimaobi Ezih, a boy who was killed in the same incident, to offer condolences. Efforts are ongoing to identify another victim—a deceased pregnant woman. The government has demolished the property linked to the crime and is working with security agencies to bring all culprits to justice, reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy on crime.
