BLIND LEADING THE BLIND

the height of our hypocrisy in this country is at the mountain top. The level at which we, as citizens deceive ourselves and our leaders deceiving us too, has reached it peak. We deceive ourselves by ourselves and we parade ourselves as a people who know what they are doing. We talk, we speak, we agitate, we negotiate, we argue, we fight, we protest as a people who know their fundamental human right. We present eloquent speeches filled with grandiloquent styles, fashioned with big big vocabularies. We present brilliant policies, we plan perfectly on papers, great project that could turn our fortune around in a twinkle of an eye blink. But when you take a good look beyond the surface, when you observe beyond the superficiality of what we present on stage, you would clearly see that we don't know what we want, (we cannot distinguish between what we want and what we need). We don't know what we are doing. We don't know our left from our right. We don't know who we are as a people. We don't know where we are coming from as a people and we do not know where we are heading to. You will realise that we behave somewhat like a bunch of docile zombies use for puppetry by few avarice puppeteers who are not leading us right and who are leading us to absolutely no where in particular.

The question now is, if those leading us are not leading us right, why do we the followers, still keep on electing same set of blind people into power? If our so called rulers are mis ruling us, why should we continue to follow them sheepishly? If our rulers are blind, should we the followers also remain blind? They say. "When the blind leads the blind they may both end up in a lagoon". But its seems in our own case, it is only the blind beings led that might end up in the lagoon. It seems our blind leaders perfectly know where they are leading us to. They know the exact destination they are carrying the entire country to, so they have nonetheless prepared an escape route for themselves, their families and friends so that, prior to the destination, they would place the entire nation on auto pilot before zooming off to a safe heaven.
