Collision theory

It states that Before a chemical reaction takes place the particles reacting must collide one to an other.

It is not every collision between reactant particles results in reaction , but it is only a small fraction of the total number of collision is effective or react.

But for reaction to take place particles must pass a certain minimum amount of energy called activations energy. And activation energy is equivalent to energy Barrier that must be over come , before reaction takes place. When the activation energy is acquired by the reactants particle , then form a complex particle of hight energy contact. Then this hight energ particle is konw as the activation energy .
