Five things every teenager wants

The teenage period over the years have proven to be one of the most challenging time of any individual, and even at times more challenging to the parents and guardian seeing a person through this stage.

 

 

The teen years is a period filled with lots of emotional uncertainties, the need for approval, the highest levels of peer pressure.

 

Infact it is said that any attitude picked up during ones teen years will be difficult to change when one attains full adulthood, and anyone that gets it right during this period is on a course to a high flying adulthood. 

Teen years is a period spanning from 13 years of age, to 19 years, and here are some tips on how to win over your teenage ward, friend, child, nephew or neice and get the best out of them.

 

1. Be their peace: 

 

 teenagers go through a lot on the inside, a little stoke of puch from the outside could be all that is needed to break the camel's back in the race to secure the future of a teenager. At least if you won't help them solve problems, don't be their problems. 

2. Listen to them:

Teenagers are learning to interact with their environment as adults, this is a stage of mini adulthood, this make them to talk and express themselves more than usual. They need a listening ear to hear all the good and rubbish they have to say. Teenagers hardly filter their words before voicing them out, so you can help them to be that filter they needto go through this world as teenagers. 

 

3. Teach them:

 

Teenagers are like interns going into the adult realm they claim to know, but indeed they no very little and need your guidance through certain decisions.

 

Teach them how to clean properly, teach them how to carry themselves in public, teach them what type of friends to make, teach them self esteem, most importantly teach them God. Teach them through your words, and through your actions. 

 

4. Support their talent :

 

Every teenager has a certain talent that they possess, it is your duty as adultsto nuture that talent and bring out the best in them through providing strong support and fan base for your teen.

 

You should be the first and best fan of your teenager as far as their talent is concerned. Be their coach, encourage them. It means a lot to them.

 

 

 

5. Give them money:

 

This is one important aspect most adult overlook, most teenagers are going through puberty and at such need money to take care of somethings they may be shy to talk to you about.

 

By giving them money you are also teaching them financial intelligence and how to handle money and responsibilities.
