Germany launch Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) for 2026. This card allow Nigerians to enter Germany for 1 year to find job, even without job offer before you travel. This is different from work visa.
Who Can Apply?
You need at least 6 points to qualify.
- Age: Under 35 = 2 points, under 40 = 1 point
- Education: University degree or 2 years vocational training = 4 points
- Work Experience: 2 years in last 5 years = 2 points
- English: IELTS 5.5 or B1 = 1 point, German A1 = 1 point
- Previous Germany stay = 1 point
If you get 6 points, you qualify.
Benefits:

- Stay 1 year to search job
- You can do part-time work (20 hours per week) while searching
- After you get full job, change to work permit
- Salary for skilled workers €3,000 to €4,500 monthly
How To Apply Without Agent:
1. Calculate Your Points: Check if you get 6 points.
2. Prepare Documents: Degree certificate, work reference letter, English certificate (IELTS or TOEFL), bank statement for proof of funds (€12,000 blocked account for 1 year).
3. Apply: Go to http://germany.info or consulate website. Apply for Chancenkarte visa. Fee is €75.
4. Blocked Account: Open blocked account with Expatrio or Fintiba online. Put €12,000 there — na your living money for Germany.
5. Travel: Once approved, travel to Germany and start job search at http://make-it-in-germany.com and http://indeed.de
