ABANDONED NDOKWA EAST COMMUNITIES PROTESTED 365 DAYS AGO,AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE ASABA, BUT GOV OKOWA HAS SHUT HIS EAR'S TO OUR DEMANDS.
If you've been following some trending news in the Oil Rich Ndokwa East region you would be abreast of the subpar performance underpinned by the cries of its struggling inhabitants and dissatisfied indigenes.
Three hundred and sixty-five (365) days ago (exactly 1 year from today), this struggle by its indigenes gave birth to a call for a physical demonstration to the Delta State Government House, Asaba, expressing their gross dissatisfaction over the lack of construction of access road Networks in NELGA Communities. But like most politicians are known for, this cry was only visited by a temporary and feeble quick fix which has almost left no trail of its impact ONLY after 365 days. This was made possible by taking advantage of the gullibleness of some of its acclaimed local indigenes as a pivot, driving through their subpar mediocrity agenda.
Specifically, the aftermath of the peaceful demonstration by the abandoned NELGA Communities were met with numerous challenges:
1. Failure of "Arise News" Television to show videos of our peaceful demonstration on air, after officially covering the "peaceful" demonstration and interviewing our comrades and available Community leaders.
If you have watched the video of the peaceful demonstration, you will find out that Delta state government officials were literally giving out instructions to the official of "Arise News" that came to cover the peaceful demonstration.
2. A DSS official who received us at the venue of the peaceful demonstration, threatened to track me down and put me in their custody. However, with the help of my mentors, myself and my cousin, we engaged the service of a legal practitioner to petition the DSS official by the Human Rights Organization.
3. Failure of Delta state government to positively respond to our several letters to meet the demand of our people for access road Networks.
Lastly, our local Politicians and Political Leaders should put their selfish Political interests aside and encourage us behind instead of fighting against our efforts to attract Developmental projects to our Communities.
Irrespective of the above challenges, we will continue to fight for access road Networks to the abandoned NELGA Communities through an aggressive increase in peaceful demonstration
and amicable discussion with the incoming Delta state government.
