Guidelines for Articles Writing

 

1. Study the topic given to you to write on, to know the audience you are writing for. It could be a national community(an article for national newspaper),

 

 

a school community ( an article for school magazine), a local community (an article for local magazine or newspaper), a foreign community ( an article for a foreign magazine).

 

 

The language to be use will vary with the audience.

2. Make the tone and language of the article suitable for the audience specified.

 

 

For example an article for publication in national or foreign magazine demand foreign language, while for local magazine or newspapers, terms familiar to the community can be use.

3. Write the title of your article and go straight to the introductry paragraph.

4. Choose an eye-catching title, as readers go for articles with interesting captions.

5. Go straight to the point with precise simple language.

6. Indicate who has written the article by writing your full name and address at the end.
