HOW TO CURE YOURSELF FROM DEPRESSION
Most humans fail to realize that they have absolute control over one thing - their thought or what they think about. One of the biggest mistakes most of us make is thinking we can control things that happens around us. It takes a high level of maturity to come to the terms that it is within that controls with-out. We must all realise that we all have little or no power over things that happens outside our lives but we all have absolute power to dictate or determine whatever goes on in our mind. Our mind is like our remote control, we are totally in charge of it. We can command it to go further and it would go, it will obey without complain!
Thoughts are generally divided into two distinct categories which includes:
1. Positive thoughts (positivity): This empowers your life, it gives strength, energy and enthusiasm to our lives. For example, happy thoughts, healthy thoughts, wealthy thoughts, uplifting thoughts, memories that brings smile to our soul.
2. Negative thoughts (negativity): This dis-empowers your life. Thoughts such as resentfulness, skepticism, thought of failure, disappointments, anger thought, unhappy thoughts, etc.
The good news is that besides the fact that you have absolute control over your thoughts. Your mind can only hold one thought at a time. You mind can only hold either negative or positive thought at the same point in time. The reason why most people are depressed is simple because they keep on holding negative thoughts in their minds. To kill that depression thought you need to starve every negative thought such as anger, blame, resentment, backbiting, failure, depression, hate etc. Since your mind is free from negative thoughts the nest things is to fill your mind up with positive thoughts.
Habit as we all know is what we keep repeating over and over again until it becomes part of our subconscious mind. So after starving your negative thought you make positive thoughts your new habit. The simple way to make positive thoughts your habit is to repeat an affirmation every morning such as, "I like myself". You can say this ten times when you wake up in the morning and twenty times before going to bed. Do this for six weeks and depression would have died a natural death! Once you make positive thought an habit, depression or suicidal thoughts would run aways from your vicinity.
As I recap, thinking and talking are two pivotal instruments that controls the either way our thought would go. So be mindful of what you think and things you say. If your thoughts and words are full of positivity, nurture them, water them immediately when they flash into your mind. Speak or scream them loud. But If they are thoughts and words full of negativity, kill it spontaneously. Burry it completely, do not give room for it to dwell. Negative thoughts should never have a place in your mind because it is harmful, toxic, it's dreadful, disastrous, destructive and illusive.
