" A Smile is a happiness you will find right under your nose." -. TOM WILSON
You do know that your Smile can be in harm's way and it needs protection, right?
Your Smile is your logo, your best accessory, so why shouldn't you protect it?. One thing I'm certain of is that we would be lost if we ever lose our smile. Yes! whether yours is a crooked, flat, straight smile, embrace it.
'Why should I protect my Smile when I have no reason to smile?' This might be your question for me. Smiles convey emotions, mostly positive emotions. I get that you wouldn't want to smile when you are not feeling positive but you CAN smile. Considering the enormous benefits of smiling, it's worth fake smiling and seeing where it gets you. Let's look at the reasons why you should smile, the reasons why you should even fake a smile.
* When you smile, your brain releases tiny molecules called NEUROPEPTIDES to help fight off stress.
* When you smile, your brain also releases ENDORPHINS; a natural pain reliever.
* The brain releases SEROTONIN (anti-depressant) when you smile.
* Smiling lowers blood pressure.
* Smiling makes you live longer.
* Smiling makes you feel happier, it elevates mood.
* Smiling makes you attractive.
* Smiles are contagious. You make others smile with your Smile.
Protecting your Smile is a healthy thing to do. Protecting your Smile is synonymous with protecting your Teeth. Do you want not just a beautiful but a healthy smile? Do you want your smile intact forever? Do you want an alluring smile, catching people's attention with just your Smile? Do you want to feel good with your Smile? There are simple, easy ways to go about it.
• To Protect your smile, you need to have oral hygiene. Once your mouth (teeth) is in good shape, your Smile is safe.
* Brush twice a day. Brush in the morning and before going to bed.
* Use a soft-bristled toothbrush, to enable you to brush properly and gently.
* Brush the right way. Don't brush too hard, take your time when brushing so as not to miss important parts in the teeth that should be brushed, brush for at least 2 minutes.
* Replace the toothbrush every 3-4 months, to prevent bacteria from growing on your toothbrush. Bacteria leads to Cavity, Cavity leads to deformation of the smile, you wouldn't want that.
* Stay hydrated to produce saliva. When your mouth is dry, bacteria find their way in, so drink water often.
* Limit your intake of sugary food or better still, rinse your mouth immediately after sugary intake, we can't have bacteria roaming around the mouth consuming the left-over sugar.
* Limit your intake of foods, and drinks that stain the teeth, e.g, grains, beverages, tobacco, e.t.c, if you must take them, rinse your mouth immediately after consumption or use a straw for the drinks to avoid contact with your teeth lest it stains.
* Eat smile-friendly food; protein, vitamins, minerals; fruits, vegetables, and milk.
* Visit the dentist once in 6 months, twice a year for a check-up.
Once you follow all these steps, I guarantee that your Smile (and teeth) are safeguarded.
