It consists of someone's Chi (his personal god) , Ndi ichie( his ancestors) , aka Ikenga ( right hand) ,and Ike ( strength)

Story of Ikenga

Ikenga was the son of ngwu , he was a fierce warrior and a fantastic wrestler, he had a remarkable ability of flying from tree to tree especially the iroko which earned him the title , Ogba aka Ari Orji , which means, climbing trees without the aid of strings

Ikenga led the people of nkwo and oji to their river battle between the Edo people, the Edo people had their mermaids and river goddess fighting for them while the nkwo people only had Ikenga and his men

The war was intense and lasted for a month , so when the Edo warriors saw that they where about to be defeated they resolved to getting the only " Ndi ichie akwu" in nkwo land and then Ikenga had to fight with his blood to protect the palace and ward off the Edo warriors, after intense wars . Ikenga came face to face with Ajikwu akpu isi , the four eyed monster with six horns

The "Ajikwu akpu isi " monster have never been defeated and was the main power of the Edo and ododo people in wars , Ikenga showcased his strength and forest powers when he fought and outsmarted the monster through the help of trees and branches. He later succeeded in killing the monster and securing the river for his people

Today , Ikenga is called upon by the igbos in times of war to aid them and give them Victory ....The name alone is for the greatest of men
