President Biden calls the US abortion ban a sad day for the country.

The 50-year constitutional right to abortion for US women finally overturned by the US Supreme Court.

After more than two weeks of intense tussle and a series of debates on the much-touted abortion law in the United States, its highest court,

which is the Supreme Court, which consists of nine major Justices, has finally overturned the 'Roe v Wade ruling' on abortion that constitutionally backs up and makes legal the abortion process.

The ruling of the supreme court implied that abortion could be illegal in the United States. Now, specific states might outlaw the practice once more.

Since 13 states have already approved legislation introducing and enforcing the new limits across their borders, the remaining are now anticipated to do the same.

Prior to 1973, US law prohibited abortion with the sole exception that it was only permitted in emergency instances in which the mother's life was threatened and was determined by a doctor to be the only course of action to save the woman's health or life.

However, in opposition, some individuals, especially women, considered this law an infringement on women's right to privacy.

Norma McCorvey, a 25-year-old mother of three prior to the 1973 declaration, advocated and spearheaded the case that claimed women's right to terminate their pregnancy was protected by the US

constitution and that the government lacked the power to prohibit abortion. This movement later became enacted and is famously referred to as the 'Roe v Wade ruling'.

While many US citizens rejoiced, especially the anti-abortion activists and campaigners calling for an end to the greatest injustice committed against unborn children in US history,

others appeared dissatisfied with the development. Most astonishingly, though, President Joe Biden called the development a regrettable blunder and demanded that the law that permits the process to be upheld instead.
