Marina Ovsyannikova's live broadcast protest, the role, pain and suffering of Women in the Russian-Ukraine War.

It's now about three weeks since Russian forces under the command of Vladimir Putin launched an attack on Ukraine.

There is no doubt that in such scenarios, women, children, the old and the less privileged are the most affected and victimized.

The live on air protest by Marina Ovsyannikova ,a news editor employee of Russian state owned media house, Channel One is a heroic move.

The act has been lauded by many including Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zalensky. Her Facebook profile picture has been liked a lot and many continue to like with comments of praise .Marina's decision though has not been received well by pro Russians, but her this still remains a strategic, bold and fearless role of media and women in particular to criticize and condemn evils in the society like invasion of Ukraine. She may have been arrested and convicted by Russian security forces but her message has been delivered and heard by Vladimir Putin.

The situation in Ukraine for the last 3weeks has not been different from a serious humanitarian crisis as a result of war.The Russian troops attack both military and peaceful civilians by dropping bombs ok on residential areas, social places like hospitals,Mosques and so on.

The bombing of Mariupol Maternity and Children's Hospital  on March 13th 2022 affected many with most casualties being children, women and newborn and unborn babies. The picture/videos of a pregnant woman bleeding being evacuated from the building by the police was very disheartening, the woman and the unborn baby lost their lives. So, painful😭

For men that join the forces in fighting for their country, left behind to take care of children are women. The women left behind to take care of children are bound to remain in fear of unknown, trauma, psychological torture not knowing what will happen in the next minute.Over 3 million people many who are women and children have fled their homes, spending sleepless nights in shelters, basements without food or water and thousands dead

But above all impressing is not the suffering and war but the women in Ukraine and also in Russia who have stood out to fight for their country in the frontline.

There are Ukrainian women that have demonstrated solidarity with the frontline soldiers by volunteering to bake cakes, bread and pack other supplies for them while others weave camouflage nets for Ukrainian soldiers.

Generally, apart from beingĀ  the main victims of humanitarian crises and especially war, they also a pivotal role to finding solutions just as men
