I type this post with a sincere heart of gratitude, because thus far, it hasn’t been easy. The entire 21 days spent during the NYSC orientation course have been rewarding, despite all the stressful miscellaneous activities. Bit by bit, I promise to relive these experiences through subsequent write-ups.
Alas, this particular piece is originally meant to capture my experience without a phone or any gadget for 20 solid days. For those who aren’t in the know I am not a phone freak who would break the bank just to purchase the latest gadget. I’ve been using my present (and faulty) phone for about six years now. Truth be told, the phone has truly outlived its significance, from insufficient storage space, low memory, buffering, and slow connectivity to a weak battery. My Nokia 6.1 Android phone genuinely served me well.
Being without a phone or any means of communication was synonymous with being in hell. I was in a state of sunken darkness. I could only communicate with a few family members occasionally through the help of a platoon member. During this period, virtually everything was on hold. Even as the head of the Broadcasting Unit (OBS), I just couldn’t function effectively. The usual voiceover gig messages I normally receive were turned down. Talk about missed opportunities. To those who called and I wasn’t responding now you know the reason behind that.
That, in itself, is a phase. I’m back online definitely healthier, active, and in a much better place. Occasionally, I will be posting a series of photo collages and a couple of videos detailing my experience at the Umunna Bende, Abia State NYSC orientation camp.
What next? You may be asking. Presently, I’m settling into my PPA, getting acquainted with my LGI, and in that same regard, setting things in the right perspective.
Now I can breathe abit!!! 😁😁😁
Good
