Every student aims to achieve good grades because there are a lot of advantages to getting good grades. You eventually get to celebrate with your friends, better opportunities for you, and some people whose mental health depends on their grades, owe it to themselves to do well in exams. As someone who passes through the competitive environment of school, I'll provide you with some tips that always helped me keep my grades afloat.
These are some measures that you might want to follow if you're looking to attain academic freedom:
Attending all lectures: this helps you to listen to all your instructors, lecturers or professors have to say. During teaching some teachers tell you the most important topics in the course. They will say things that might not be included in the textbooks or slides they might send. Attending lectures will give you first-hand information.
Taking down good notes from lectures: notes are the keys to your academic success. If you write a bad note, you'll most likely fail that course but if your notes are accurate then you do have a good chance of acing your classes. When writing notes make sure to write only significant details. There is no use in writing down everything the instructor says that makes your note bulky but when you write down only the important details, your notes will be easier to reference in the future.
Using the Pomodoro technique to study: this technique is known for helping students who get easily distracted while studying. The Pomodoro allows you to take breaks while studying for example if you study for twenty-five minutes, you take a break for fifteen minutes during the break you can go on a walk or listen to music but don't use your phone. After the break, come back to studying and continue with the technique, this will yield a favorable result for you.
Form study groups: engage yourself with other students who pursue the same academic goals as you. Task yourselves and don't hesitate to remove anyone who doesn't take the group seriously.
Make use of past questions: go through questions that have been set over the years so that you'll have an idea of how questions are normally set. Also, pay attention to repeated questions as they are likely to come out in future exams.
I'm sure when you implement all these you will finally attain the academic breakthrough you have been waiting for. Good grades matter a lot and do your best to attain them. All the best.
