Margaret Wyrim Magugg, the widow of former Treasury Secretary Arthur Magugg, was left in shock at her home in Ridgeway on May 3.
Mr Maggu is in dispute with his Karura Investments Ltd, a private company, over ownership of his 82.4-hectare land in Mutaiga, a suburb of Nairobi.
The investigation of the transaction, which he completed in just three hours, including the disposition, transfer, division, valuation, stamp duty assessment, payment and new ownership of his 17 billion shilling property, is far from complete. . .
Last month, the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) turned the controversy around by calling Land Service officials sound alarm bells.
A story dating back to 1993 seems to have split the DCI. That's because recent developments contradict an investigation that concluded the deal was questionable. After Maggu passed away in September 2012, his family began the inheritance process. He bought several properties in his life but never wrote his will.
This poses a problem in identifying the actual owner of the late minister's property.
