Some weeks ago, I wanted to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for an academic reason. I searched all over the internet, went through journals for hours and I couldn't find what I needed. It was almost like there was no information about what I was searching for except for a few that weren't very elaborate. To be candid, I got frustrated.
I was wasting precious moments to search for something and I wasn't finding it. Non living thing be stressing me more than living thing fa 🙄. Even google scholar was no help.
I got on a call with a friend and gisted well well. You know the kind gist wey you go laugh hahahaha! hehehe! Anything to relieve stress!
After I was done with my call, my eye sef don dey gum. I needed to retire to bed. I took one look at the presentation I was preparing and hissed. I had to present it the next day and the information no gree show.
I contemplated doing another search for the last time but, I wasn't motivated at all. What could I possibly find now that I couldn't find from previous hours of searching. However, the thought of having nothing to present and hinting at incompetence on my part irked me so much that I mustered up my last strength and searched again.
And I found something new? Nah, I didn't. Nothing. Nada 🙄
I went back to the previous scanty piece of information I had gotten prior to the time and boringly read it again. Now, I had read this journal over and over again that it was boring to have to read it again.
This time, I patiently read it line by line and strove for understanding. If I'm going to be doing this, I better do it right and be sure I left no stone unturned.
After going through it about three more times, I finally realized that I could bring out pieces of information I needed from that single journal. Hei God! My joy knew no bounds.
It made me wonder how many times we have given up on something good because we had searched and searched but couldn't find it. You know, sometimes, what you are looking for in Sokoto might be right there in your sokoto 😌
