Speaking yesterday evening in Nairobi when he met with the leaders of the clergy, the Azimio leader mocked the denominational leaders for allegedly preaching politics to their members in favor of William Ruto during last year's general election, a condition that has since brought suffering to many Kenyans. Raila claimed that starting next week, the opposition leaders will take on President Ruto, warning him to prepare in advance to receive the political shocks.
"Last year, some of the leaders preached Mr. Ruto in your churches. You said you would see a better Kenya with Mr. Ruto. He also promised you heaven. See now how much you are suffering. I send a major warning to Mr. Ruto. I tell him to prepare enough since we are meeting him head-on. We are coming, Mr. Ruto," Raila warned during the meeting, as quoted by Nation Africa newspaper.
