Small scale retail outlets are sometimes referred to as independent retailing or unit retailing.

Small scale retail outlets are as follows: Hawking,stall holding, single shop, mobile shops, and market trading. 

-Hawkers:carry their wares from place to place in search for customers.Hawking requires small capital to commence.Another term for hawkit is itinerant trading.

-Stallholders: They are traders who display their goods in stalls.

-Single or unit shops:They are located almost everywhere in the cities, towns and villages.

-Mobile shops:Are special forms of Hawking operated using motor vehicles mobile shops can seek customers wherever they may be found.Meanwhile customers cannot easily return goods.

-Market trading:A wide variety of goods are available,they attract customers from both far and near places.
