Politics is a noble calling. Politician leaders occupy the apex of leadership in all countries all over the world.
Their conduct must be honorable that’s why they are referred to as “Honorable members”. However, Kenyan politics is full of corruption and dirty deeds. Politicians seek their votes by hook or coop. Religious leaders are better placed to bring hygiene into our leadership. They are urged to advise the citizens to shun politicians with questionable moral standards.
Religious Leaders should not insight people to choose a certain leader because they have done contributions to the church, instead they should filter out the corrupt leaders. They should preach against corrupt leaders. Electing people who hook up people with their money is causing impunity to our politics. Sometimes it is disturbing and ironic when religious leaders fail to hold corrupt leaders into account.
They are supposed to condemn any injustices conducted by the leaders to the people. When financial support in the church is recommended, the clergy cannot auction the house of God to politicians. They should never allow wealthy politicians to take advantage of the holy sanctuary to propagate their partisan agenda. The church is a holy place and they are not supposed to do any campaign whatsoever on the holy grounds. If they give that wealthy politician’s a chance, they will be deeming the place of the church as the moral compass of the society. They should look for other grounds where they can do their endless agendas. Let them use this election to reclaim their once reversed position in society. Kenya citizens need their religious leaders at this crucial time to guide them. Our country can get better leaders if the men and women of the cloth stand for what is noble.
