THE DANGER OF TELLING YOURSELF LIES

You can lie to other people around you. You can pretend to other people . You can even succeed in deceiving other people. None of the above will you be able to do to yourself. You cannot lie to yourself, you cannot deceive yourself. You cannot pretend to yourself . This is why you have no option but to absolutely be honest to yourself.

You need to be completely truthful, be objective, straight forward with yourself. Only failures or losers in life tell lies to themselves. Only the never do well and the never move forward seat down in their poll of concocted lies, pretending to themselves even when in the deepest part of their heart, they are aware of the lies they keep telling themselves.

There are grave danger and consequences if you keep telling lies or pretending to yourself. One of the danger of telling yourself lies is that if you keep telling those lies long enough, it would get to a point where you convince yourself that those lies are the absolute truth - you would start believing you own lies. The truth would seems like lies to you and your lies would become truth in your own mind.

I pray none of us get to this point because this is a point of almost no return. Your mind become so twisted - it become warped, reprobate, distorted etc. The truth is a lie to you. The right thing looks like the wrong thing to you. Moving forward seems looking backward. Finally, the good would start looking like bad to you and the bad becomes good to you, (May we never find ourselves at this stage). Such individuals are menace to the society. The terrorist, the bandits, the kidnappers, the rapist, the suicide bombers, the serial killers are people who are a vivid example of what am saying. They all started by telling lies to themselves that what they were doing was the right thing, until they convinced themselves it was the right thing. Now! They commit the most heinous atrocity to humanity thinking they are doing the rights thing! God save their soul!
