Jakarta — The Indonesian National Police's commitment to eradicating crime in the energy and natural resources sector has once again received public appreciation. This time, the Directorate of Specific Crimes (Dit Tipidter) of the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) received the BPI Award from the BPI KPNPA RI for its outstanding success in uncovering cases of illegal mining, misuse of quartz sand, and misappropriation of subsidized fuel, which have caused widespread unrest and significant losses to the state.
This prestigious award was presented directly by the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the BPI KPNPA RI, Brigadier General (Ret.) Drs. Erwin Charara Rusmana, SH, MH, to the Director of Specific Crimes (Tipidter) of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin, S.I.K., M.M., in a simple yet meaningful ceremony in his office.
A Firm, Humble, and Humane General
Brigadier General Haji Nunung Syaifuddin is widely known as a high-ranking officer who not only possesses firm leadership but also maintains a low profile and a humane demeanor. These qualities make him very close to his subordinates and are respected by criminals for his firmness in law enforcement.
On that occasion, Brigadier General Nunung expressed his appreciation for the award given by the Indonesian National Police (BPI KPNPA RI). He emphasized that the disclosure of illegal mining and subsidized fuel cases is part of the National Police's systematic efforts to safeguard state assets and provide a sense of justice to the public.
"This is not just an award, but a form of public trust that we must maintain with real work and courage to fight against the mafia that is destroying the system," Brigadier General Nunung emphasized.
Award as a Form of Civil Society Support
The Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian National Police (BPI KPNPA RI), Brigadier General (Ret.) Erwin Charara Rusmana, who also serves as Special Assistant to the Presidential Advisor for Political and Security Affairs, expressed this award as a symbol of the synergy between civil society and law enforcement officials in strengthening the increasingly complex agenda of eradicating economic crimes.
"We are not here to judge or interfere, but to provide moral support and encouragement to officers who are brave and stand on the side of the people. This is a concrete form of public participation in maintaining the integrity of the state," said Erwin.
In this award presentation, the ranks of the Tipidter Directorate were also accompanied by the Deputy Director, Head of Sub-Directorate 1 and Head of Sub-Directorate 3. Meanwhile, from the BPI KPNPA RI, present were the General Chairperson Tb. Rahmad Sukendar, S.Sos, SH, MH, Daily Chairperson Roslan Sianipar, S.Pd, SH, Head of the OKK Bureau Jatmoko Suandanu, SE, MM, and Head of the Legal Division Melida Sianipar, SH.
Real Actions to Protect the People
The Chairman of the Indonesian National Police Commission for the Protection of the Indonesian National Police (KPNPA), Tb. Rahmad Sukendar, expressed his highest praise for the dedication of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Dit Tipidter) in uncovering cases that have a direct impact on the welfare of the community, especially the lower-middle class, who are highly dependent on access to affordable energy and food.
"What the Dit Tipidter has done demonstrates that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is there for the people, working without compromise, and focused on enforcing the law fairly and in the interests of the nation," Rahmad stated on Thursday (August 7).
He further emphasized that this award is expected to inspire other police units to continue to innovate, be bold, and not hesitate to dismantle economic crime networks that harm the state and the people.
Encourage a Culture of Appreciation for Positive Performance by Officers
The presentation of the BPI Award to Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin demonstrates that the public is not only ready to criticize officers, but also ready to give recognition when officers demonstrate real work and have a direct impact on the public.
"We must develop a culture of appreciation. This is crucial to motivate officers to tirelessly fight to uphold the law, particularly in eradicating organized crime such as illegal mining and subsidy misappropriation, which have long been the source of economic damage and injustice," concluded Brigadier General (Ret.) Erwin.
With public support through organizations like the Indonesian National Police (BPI KPNPA RI), it is hoped that the hard work of the police—particularly the Directorate of Tipidter—will become more solid and consistent in uncovering various economic crimes that harm the state. The Indonesian National Police (Polri) are not only law enforcers, but also the vanguard of national economic sovereignty.
