The Jambi Provincial DPRD Commission II's discussion of the 2025-2029 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) draft regulation stated that the Jambi Provincial Government will implement a tax amnesty program this coming August. This was conveyed in Commission II's report at the Jambi Provincial DPRD Plenary Meeting on Friday evening (August 1, 2025).
"Commission II has received information that the Jambi Provincial Government will implement the amnesty program on August 17th, with the theme "Celebrating Independence Day," said Commission II Chairman Erfan.
The tax amnesty program will require expired vehicle taxes to be paid only for the last two years. Conversely, incentives will be provided for compliant taxpayers in the form of a 5 percent discount for four-wheeled vehicles and a 10 percent discount for two-wheeled vehicles. "This needs to be supported together," he said.
Commission II also hopes that in the future, cashless Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) payments, especially in urban areas, will be made possible through QRIS or other mobile app (APK).
"This also requires joint support. Commission II then requested that the Jambi Provincial Government, the Regency/City Governments, and the Regency/City Regional People's Representative Councils (DPRD) sit down together to discuss the implementation of Opsen, which has currently resulted in a decline in Motor Vehicle Tax Revenue," he explained.
Furthermore, the Head of the Jambi Province BPKPD, Agus Pirngadi, when contacted by jamberita.com, had not yet responded to the tax amnesty discourse, leading to the publication of this article.
Furthermore, Commission II's report on the discussion of the 2025-2029 RPJMD Draft Regional Regulation also provided the following recommendations:
- The Jambi Provincial Government should focus on the President and Vice President's Vision and Mission regarding the Red and White Cooperative in 2026. Ensure that it is not included in the Strategic Plan, especially the Budget Allocation;
- The Jambi Provincial Government should be more creative and innovative in identifying new potential for SMEs, especially those in the batik industry, and should develop innovative motifs;
- The Jambi Provincial Government should expedite the completion of the elected management of PT Jambi Indoguna Internasional (JII).
- The Jambi Provincial Government should coordinate with relevant institutions and agencies to resolve the increasingly frequent queues and shortages of diesel fuel at gas stations, particularly by regulating industrial vehicles using subsidized diesel and vehicles diverting diesel fuel.
- The Jambi Provincial Government is urged to coordinate across sectors between the Economic Bureau and the Regional Development Planning Agency (BPKPD) regarding the PBBKB (land tax) for industrial vehicles, which currently use subsidized fuel.
- The Jambi Provincial Government is urged to be more innovative in pursuing investment, possibly through promotions on various social media platforms and similar platforms. It is hoped that all regencies/cities in Jambi Province will have Public Service Malls.
- The Jambi Provincial Government is urged to understand the five pillars of investment: Investment Objectives, Time Horizon, Return Profile, Asset Allocation, and Periodic Review. This is essential for synergy and to ensure the economic impact of these investments can be enjoyed by all Jambi residents.
- The Jambi Provincial Government is urged to compile an up-to-date map of investment potential across all regencies/cities in Jambi Province, with the coordinating role of relevant agencies.
- The Jambi Provincial Government is urged to immediately create an Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) to attract new investors and facilitate the promotion of investment opportunities while also providing a platform for the Central Government.
- The Jambi Provincial Government should pay attention to farmers who plant oil palm in the forest, because this is a consequence of oil palm in the forest, so they need to be accompanied until harvest and guided to partner with companies so they can convert their land to non-oil palm crops.
- The Jambi Provincial Government urges the BBI (Farming Plantation Center) in regencies/cities to increase seed production as needed and undergo rehabilitation.
- The Jambi Provincial Government urges efforts to optimally increase rice, corn, and livestock production to meet future needs.

- The Jambi Provincial Government urges intensive management of fertile and productive land for rice, corn, and other food crops, for example, in the Masurai Valley area and its surroundings.
