THE NATION, GHANA.

I WANT TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU🤔

Many years ago, I realised this country called Ghana wouldn’t get better, at least not within our life time.

The political class will suck it dry and the masses will suffer—some will agitate but to nothing.

Some people working 8 to 12 hours a day in Ghana are paid not more than 1,000 GHS—and some of these are graduates.

But this same country has decided to pay the wives of its President and Vice-President monthly salaries, back dated to 2017, at 21,000 GHS—we’ve been told. This makes it a back pay of about 1,134,000 GHS.

And we are told this excludes allowances totaling 87,000 GHS per month. This will  also be back dated to 2017.

Parliament of Ghana, the majority of the MPs we elected approved this. We know what the majority may look like in this house.

The United States President’s wife is busier, much impactful and many things than our 1st and 2nd ladies combined but the First Lady of the USA is not paid—because her position is ceremonial, not an elected representative.

Why does the wives of our leaders need to be paid? What do they need the monies for? Do they ever even buy anything much?

And why 21,000 GHS a month plus extra allowance of 87,000 GHS per month?

Why doesn’t such generous salaries’ rate reflect in the lives of the hard working ordinary Ghanaians—even those working within the Gov’t sector?

There is a hovering inequality, insane economic oppression of the ordinary people and this will one day come back to bite us. How? I don’t know for now.

Our system seems to benefit only the few in power—there is no sign of real concern for the masses.

At this same time, the Finance Minister has tabled 28 million dollars loan before parliament to be used to purchase 275 vehicles for MPs in the 8th Parliament. Each MP will get 618,980.10 GHS (105,000 dollars) for a car.

Now, look at your life and scream!!!
